This was my Artprize 2023 painting, in Grand Rapids. It features a reining horse in California with a stunning color palatte. I took the palette knife to create the textures of this one, I really enjoyed 'loosening' up the colors and strokes. I incorporated some 'scratch' marks as well in the saddle. Like this horse, learning stretching the limits to see what you can do is a great skill!
